Whistler, Canada

With the unbeatable experience of Squamish behind us, we geared up for another adventure: Whistler, which sits north of Squamish on the Sea to Sky Highway. Most people probably think it’s crazy to drive all the way to Whistler for a half-day trip, but we were eager to see this resort town nestled in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains.

Whistler is famous for alpine skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and for being the host for the 2010 Winter Olympics (along with Vancouver).

Whistler immediately charmed us with its coziness, and we wandered around the village shopping, sipping coffee, watching mountain bikers, and taking pictures with all the Olympic monuments!

After a few hours in Whistler Village, it was time to return south to Vancouver—but first—we made two quick stops at some incredible waterfalls along our route home, Shannon Falls and Brandywine Falls.

After an exhausting day trekking up and down Canada’s beautiful Sea to Sky Highway, we treated ourselves to hearty bowls of ramen in Chinatown and went straight to sleep.
