Welcome to Me.

She always had the feeling that it was very, very dangerous to live even one day. Virginia Woolf, Mrs Dalloway

Hello, I’m an introvert. More specifically, the Myers-Briggs test classifies me as the INFJ-type of introvert, meaning I’m the kind of person quietly driving myself crazy thinking of ways to improve everything around me.

Seven core values drive me: justice, freedom, beauty, compassion, empathy, idealism, and adventure. When you throw these values into a pot and mix them up with my less wonderful qualities (read: impatience, anxiety, and a hot temper), you get me: a 20-something lawyer dreaming about what it means to really live.

It is dangerous to live. There is an order to this life, a routine that comforts us all: wake, eat, work, drink, play, go, sleep. It takes a dream to disturb the order and grit to follow that dream.

In my dreams, I expand myself: I breathe in the world, I extend compassion to those who suffer, I stand up for those without a voice, and I help build an egalitarian society. In my dreams, I shed my bad qualities and adopt beautiful new ones, like courage, patience, and peacefulness. In my dreams, I live beyond what the world tells me is normal, or good, or right.

We all have a chance to live deeply, spherically, dangerously. This blog is where I’ll share my attempts at that kind of life. So welcome to this blog, welcome to new adventures, welcome to new ideas, welcome to new friends, and welcome to the new person I want to become. Adventures await!
